Lucia Mal\u00ed\u010dkov\u00e1, Project Coordinator at the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC Slovakia) and the National Competence Centre for High-Performance Computing (NCC for HPC), met with Associate Professor Maro\u0161 Halama, PhD, from the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling at the Technical University of Ko\u0161ice. Their discussion focused on opportunities for closer collaboration in research, computational technologies, and support for young researchers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Technical University of Ko\u0161ice has long been among the leaders in the fields of materials research, metallurgy, and technological innovation. High-performance computing (HPC), provided by NSCC Slovakia, is a key tool for supporting research projects with demanding requirements for simulation, modeling, and data analysis. Connecting these two worlds\u2014research and infrastructure\u2014can open up new opportunities not only for scientists, but also for Slovak industry and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eWe discussed specific ways to strengthen collaboration between universities and national institutions in the field of high-performance computing (HPC)<\/em>,\u201c said Lucia Mal\u00ed\u010dkov\u00e1. \u201eThe potential for joint projects, access to computing resources, and support for students in this field are areas where we see significant room for progress.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting represents a first step toward a long-term connection of infrastructure, expertise, and shared goals. Both parties aim not only to make use of available tools, but also to actively contribute to their development for the benefit of the scientific community and Slovakia\u2019s innovative future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
