The Leonardo Consortium, composed of six European countries led by Italy, procured and in November 2022 put into operation the currently sixth most powerful supercomputer in the world \u00a0<\/a>. Slovensko, ako jeden z \u010dlenov konzorcia, poskytuje prostredn\u00edctvom V\u00fdpo\u010dtov\u00e9ho strediska Slovenskej akad\u00e9mie vied projektu svoje odborn\u00e9 znalosti v oblasti HPC a komunit\u00e1m pou\u017e\u00edvate\u013eov technick\u00fa a in\u017einiersku podporu na vysokej \u00farovni. Slovensk\u00ed pou\u017e\u00edvatelia maj\u00fa v\u010faka tomu jedine\u010dn\u00fa mo\u017enos\u0165 zapoji\u0165 sa do n\u00e1rodnej v\u00fdzvy a z\u00edska\u0165 pr\u00edstup na syst\u00e9m Leonardo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superpo\u010d\u00edta\u010d Leonardo m\u00e1 v\u00fdkon pribli\u017ene 250 PFlop\/s, pri\u010dom celkov\u00e1 alok\u00e1cia dostupn\u00e1 pre slovensk\u00e9 projekty je 56 000 GPU n\u00f3d-hod\u00edn a 25 000 CPU n\u00f3d-hod\u00edn ro\u010dne.  Computing Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences,<\/a> preto v spolupr\u00e1ci s National Supercomputing Center, <\/a>to access Leonardo's computing resources.<\/strong>Given the size of the allocation, support will be provided to a smaller number of projects, primarily those that require simultaneous utilization of a large number of computing nodes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access is open to all fields of science and research, and eligible applicants are from Slovak public universities or institutions of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Supported projects should enable progress and innovation in their chosen area, with added value for addressing societal and\/or technological challenges in Slovakia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications used in projects should be thoroughly tested, demonstrating high efficiency and scalability on HPC systems or the need for extensive simulations that require a significant amount of CPU\/GPU time. These should be highly parallelized applications capable of efficiently utilizing the available resources, the allocation of which would be challenging on the current national HPC infrastructureDevana supercomputer \u00a0<\/a>). The computational power requirement and resource utilization must be clearly and comprehensively described in the proposal. V\u00fdzva je otvoren\u00e1 do 31.1. 2024. Vyhodnotenie a vybran\u00e9 projekty bud\u00fa zverejnen\u00e9 dva t\u00fd\u017edne po uz\u00e1vierke, \u00faspe\u0161n\u00ed rie\u0161itelia bud\u00fa o \u010fal\u0161om postupe informovan\u00ed mailom. Jednotliv\u00e9 projekty bud\u00fa hodnoten\u00e9 odborn\u00fdm person\u00e1lom VS SAV a NSCC s oh\u013eadom na vedeck\u00fd pr\u00ednos a \u010do najefekt\u00edvnej\u0161ie vyu\u017eitie v\u00fdpo\u010dtov\u00fdch kapac\u00edt. Projekty s maxim\u00e1lnou d\u013a\u017ekou trvania 12 mesiacov je mo\u017en\u00e9 poda\u0165 prostredn\u00edctvom pou\u017e\u00edvate\u013esk\u00e9ho port\u00e1lu register.nscc.sk \u00a0<\/a>.
