High performance computing (HPC) is the use of high-performance computing technologies (supercomputers and parallel programs) to solve complex numerical problems. Deployment of HPC is important in modern science as well as in industry.

The National Competence Center provides services and courses in the field of HPC. All our services and courses are free of charge. Collaborate with us, use our computing resources, learn to code, find out how to optimize parallel code sand use HPC software efficiently.

Slovakia has joined a European network of 33 competence centers. The aim of the EuroCC project. and CASTIEL is to bridge the existing HPC skill gaps while promoting cooperation and the implementation of best practices across Europe. European countries are currently taking part in the initiative and pooling their resources with the EU and private partners to enable the EU to become a world leader in supercomputing.

NCC Slovakia on Business Mission in Portugal During the State Visit of the Slovak President 2 Dec - On 26–27 November 2025, the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC Slovakia) took part in a business mission to Portugal held on the occasion of the state visit of the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini. Božidara Pellegrini took part in the mission on behalf of NSCC and also served as the representative of the National Competence Centre for HPC (NCC Slovakia) – the NSCC division responsible for the EuroCC project and for facilitating access of Slovak stakeholders to EuroHPC JU supercomputing resources. The delegation consisted of nearly 20 innovative Slovak companies and institutions active in the fields of digital solutions, information technologies, smart cities, and energy.
