VICE and the Digital Twin at the Pre-Christmas Hydrogen Infoday

Dňa 10. decembra 2025 sme sa zúčastnili podujatia Predvianočný vodíkový Infoday v Bratislave. Súčasťou programu bola prezentácia VICE – Vertical Integrated Cyclic Energy, Hydrogen, vedená Laurie Farmerom a Luciou Malíčkovou.

On 10 December 2025, we participated in the Pre-Christmas Hydrogen Infoday in Bratislava. The programme included a presentation on VICE – Vertical Integrated Cyclic Energy, Hydrogen, delivered by Laurie Farmer and Lucia Malíčková.


The presentation was prepared and delivered jointly, with each member of the team presenting their respective expert section:

  • Lucia Malíčková presented the overall framework of the VICE project and its connection to the activities of the National Supercomputing Centre. She also explained how Farmer’s concept was integrated into the digital twin, enabling the simulation of various scenarios, operational analysis, and the optimization of energy cycles.
  • Laurie Farmer explained the technological concept of storing excess energy in hydrogen and its importance for energy systems.

The joint presentation demonstrated:

  • the potential of hydrogen as a stabilizing element within the energy infrastructure,
  • the possibilities for efficient storage and utilisation of energy surpluses,
  • the advantages of linking energy concepts with HPC simulations through the digital twin,
  • the practical application of modelling for future energy and industrial solutions.

The event brought a wealth of insightful discussions and confirmed the growing importance of connecting hydrogen technologies with digital solutions. We look forward to further collaboration with partners from the energy, research, and industrial sectors, as well as to new opportunities that will allow us to continue advancing innovative approaches to sustainable energy.

We Participated in the High-Level Summit on AI in Bratislava 2 Dec - Zučastnili sme sa prestížneho High-Level Summit on AI – BratislavAI Forum 2025, ktorý predstavuje jeden z najvýznamnejších aktuálnych európskych príspevkov k formovaniu globálnej architektúry správy umelej inteligencie. Lucia Malíčková reprezentovala naše odborné kapacity v oblasti umelej inteligencie, dátových ekosystémov a digitálnych inovácií.
NCC Slovakia on Business Mission in Portugal During the State Visit of the Slovak President 2 Dec - On 26–27 November 2025, the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC Slovakia) took part in a business mission to Portugal held on the occasion of the state visit of the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini. Božidara Pellegrini took part in the mission on behalf of NSCC and also served as the representative of the National Competence Centre for HPC (NCC Slovakia) – the NSCC division responsible for the EuroCC project and for facilitating access of Slovak stakeholders to EuroHPC JU supercomputing resources. The delegation consisted of nearly 20 innovative Slovak companies and institutions active in the fields of digital solutions, information technologies, smart cities, and energy.
