Registration is open: QMC Hands-on Summer Workshop
We are pleased to announce that the QMC Hands-on Summer Workshop will be held in Slovakia from 20-23 June 2022. Workshop will be organised by TREX project, National Competence Centre for HPC (NCC for HPC), Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) and the Institute of Physics SAS.
The workshop will take place in person in the manor house Mojmírovce in Slovakia and participants will have the opportunity to gain a comprehensive theoretical overview and practical experience with quantum Monte Carlo methods and their molecular (Quantum Package and CHAMP codes) and periodic systems (TurboRVB). Lectures and trainings will be led by experts who are part of the European Center of Excellence TREX:

Main goals:
- Provide participants a general overview of QMC foundations and their adaptation to simulations of molecular and periodic systems.
- Provide an overview of the hot current topics in molecular, crystalline and low-dimensional systems.
- Provide hands-on experience with practical QMC simulations based on CHAMP and TurboRVB simulation codes.
Supercomputers for Business – Article in the SOPK Monthly 17 Apr - V najnovšom čísle mesačníka Slovenskej obchodnej a priemyselnej komory (SOPK) sme predstavili, ako technológie High Performance Computing (HPC) a služby Národného superpočítačového centra pomáhajú slovenským firmám inovovať, urýchliť vývoj a získať konkurenčnú výhodu. Superpočítače už dávno nie sú výlučne nástrojom akademickej sféry – dnes zohrávajú kľúčovú úlohu aj v priemysle, zdravotníctve, energetike či automobilovom sektore. V článku približujeme konkrétne príklady z praxe a ukazujeme, ako sa výpočtový výkon superpočítača využíva pri riešení reálnych výziev firiem.
Spolupráca so SARIO – podpísali sme memorandum o spolupráci 16 Apr - Dňa 16. apríla sme podpísali memorandum o spolupráci so Slovenskou agentúrou pre rozvoj investícií a obchodu (SARIO). Tento krok predstavuje dôležitý míľnik v našom úsilí posilniť prepojenie medzi technologickou infraštruktúrou v oblasti vysokovýkonného počítania (HPC) a potrebami podnikateľského prostredia na Slovensku.
